Injured cyclists 'should consider their options'

Cyclists who have sustained injuries as a result of an accident should discuss their options for compensation with a lawyer who specialises in such cases, the Guardian has suggested.
According to the newspaper, if a cyclist feels as though they may have a case for a compensation claim, there are a number of things that they can do to help this process.
Claims can be strengthened through the collection of evidence, such as photographs from the accident scene, pictures of any injuries sustained and contact details for witnesses.
A solicitor can help to obtain other useful pieces of information, such as hospital records.
The newspaper pointed out that while a victim has three years from the time of the incident to make a personal injury claim, "the quicker an accident victim finds a solicitor to pull together all the evidence, the more likely he is to win".
Last month, the Daily Star reported that Olympic cyclist Paul Manning had to miss out on the World Championships for the sport seven years ago after being injured in a collision with a vehicle. He received compensation for the injuries he sustained and the subsequent treatment he had to undergo.
