Woman receives payout

A woman has been awarded compensation and issued an apology after she was left disabled by mistakes made by medical staff at Pilgrim Hospital.
Recently, United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which has a budget of £320 million per year - agreed to an undisclosed settlement with the patient.
In September 2003, Sandra Compton-Lock went into hospital to have an operation, the Boston Standard reports.
During the procedure, she suffered a haemorrhage, which went undiagnosed and untreated for several hours.
As a result, she sustained brain damage and now requires care for her day-to-day needs.
Her husband, Michael, launched a damages claim against the NHS trust to get money in order to pay for the costs of her future care.
During a recent high court hearing, a lawyer representing the organisation said liability had been admitted.
Approving the settlement reached between the parties, Mr Justice Jack said: "I hope that this is seen as a good day, in particular by Mr Compton-Lock and that a line, so to speak, has been drawn."
